About the condition

Early signs of pregnancy—missed periods, breast tenderness, nausea, fatigue, frequent urination—can be subtle or similar to premenstrual symptoms. Pregnancy tests detect human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), which the body begins producing about 6 days after fertilization. The most reliable result is obtained from the first day of a missed period; if you do not know your cycle timing, test no earlier than 21 days after unprotected sexual intercourse. If you get a negative result but your period has not started, repeat the test after a few days, and discuss a positive result with a doctor or midwife.

Ingredients

  • Test fluid level gauge
  • Package leaflet

Instructions

Wait until the sample has cooled to room temperature (15-30 °C) before performing the test.

  1. Keep the bag at room temperature before opening it. Remove the test liquid level meter from the sealed bag and use it within one hour.
  2. Dip the test fluid level dipstick into the urine (Note: the urine volume must not exceed the "Maximum" limit).
  3. Remove the test fluid level meter from the urine sample after 15 seconds, or leave the meter in the urine sample and switch the timer on immediately.
  4. Read the result after 3 minutes. After 10 minutes, do not check the result again.

Results

PositiveTwo coloured lines appear. One coloured line should appear in the control area (C) and the other in the test area (T). One line may be lighter than the other. They do not have to overlap. This means that you are probably pregnant.
NegativeA single coloured line appears in the control area (C). No line is visible in the test line area (T). This means that you are probably not pregnant.
Not validThe result is invalid if no coloured line appears in the control line area (C) even if a line appears in the test line area (T). You should repeat the test using a new test.

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to take a pregnancy test?

The most reliable result is obtained from the first day of a missed period. It is best to use morning urine because the hCG concentration is highest in it.

What does a faint second line mean?

Even a faintly visible test line usually means that hCG was detected. If in doubt, it is worth repeating the test after 2–3 days.

Can a pregnancy test be wrong?

A falsely negative result is usually caused by taking the test too early or with diluted urine. If your period still hasn't arrived, repeat the test or consult a doctor.
