What is this test?

The fetal fibronectin (fFN) test detects the fFN protein in cervical or vaginal secretions. A negative result helps rule out imminent preterm labor in symptomatic pregnant women. It is used in obstetrics departments as an auxiliary tool for assessing the risk of preterm birth.
