What is this test?
The adenovirus rapid test detects enteric adenovirus (type 40/41) antigens in stool samples. These viruses cause gastroenteritis, especially in young children. In pediatrics, the test helps to quickly identify the cause of diarrhea and avoid the unnecessary prescription of antibiotics.
