Cytomegalovirus IgM test

The CMV IgM test cassette is a rapid diagnostic tool for the detection of IgM-type antibodies against cytomegalovirus (CMV) in serum or plasma. The test allows a rapid diagnosis of acute or recent CMV infection, as IgM antibodies appear in the body within days to weeks after the onset of infection and decline over several months.The test is used in particularly important clinical situations, such as prenatal screening for possible infection, monitoring the health of newborn babies, and immunodeficiency conditions. The test is qualitative and a positive IgM result indicates active or acute infection.
