The sample is faeces.

The problem

H. pylori is a common bacterium that infects the lining of the stomach and can cause gastrointestinal problems including gastritis, ulcers and, in some cases, stomach cancer.

Symptoms of H. pylori infection include stomach discomfort (pain or feeling full), pain in the upper abdomen, nausea, loss of appetite, gas, heartburn - a burning sensation in the chest/throat, and unexpected weight loss.

  • Test cassette
  • Sample collection tube with extraction buffer
  • Package leaflet
  • Faecal specimen collection sheet

Before the test, a stool sample should be taken according to the instructions below.

  1. Wash your hands with soap and rinse with clean water.
    • Package leaflet
    • Faecal specimen collection sheet
  2. How to take a stool sample.
The faecal sample must be collected on a faecal sample collection slip or in clean sample collection containers.
Use the stool sample collection sheet. Take precautions to avoid contaminating the sample: make sure that the side of the sample or the specimen collection sheet does not come into contact with any objects that could contaminate it, including toilet cleaners.
  3. How to process a stool sample.
Unscrew the cap of the sample collection tube, then insert the sample collection applicator into the stool sample in at least 3 different places. Do not hang the stool sample.
Place the cap on the sample collection tube and screw it on tightly, then shake the sample collection tube vigorously until the sample mixes with the extraction buffer.
  4. Keep the bag at room temperature before opening it. Remove the test cartridge from the sealed bag and use as soon as possible. The best results are obtained if the test is carried out immediately after opening the foil bag.
  5. Open the cap of the sample collection tube and crack the tip. Invert the sample collection tube and drop 2 full drops of the resulting sample onto the sample well (S) in the test cartridge and start the timer. Be careful to avoid air bubbles in the sample well (S).
  6. Check the results after 10 minutes. After 20 min, do not check the results again.
Positive * Two coloured lines appear. Both T (test) and C (control) lines appear. This result means that the faeces contain H. pylori antigens. Contact your doctor.

*NOTE: The intensity of the colour in the test line area (T) will vary depending on the H. pylori antigens present in the sample. Therefore, any shade in the test line area (T) should be considered a positive result.

Negative A single coloured line appears in the control area (C). No coloured line is visible in the test line area (T). This result means that no H. pylori antigens were detected in faeces.
Not valid The control line does not appear. The most likely reasons for the non-appearance of the reference line are insufficient sample quantity or an incorrect procedure. Revise the procedure and repeat the test using a new test. If the problem persists, stop using the test kit and contact your local distributor.
