Ovulation test (strips)
Test strips that detect increased concentration of luteinizing hormone (LH) in urine and help predict ovulation—a positive result indicates that ovulation is likely within the next 24–36 hours.
About the condition
The probability of getting pregnant is highest a few days before ovulation and on the day of ovulation, but its timing can vary for different women and even across different cycles. Before ovulation, the level of luteinizing hormone (LH) increases significantly—the test detects it in urine and helps determine the most fertile days. The test is useful when planning a pregnancy, especially with an irregular cycle; if you fail to conceive within 12 months (within 6 months for women over 35), consult a doctor. An ovulation test is not a method of contraception.

see illustration below. - Place the test liquid level meter on a clean, dry, non-absorbent and flat surface and
start the timer. - Wait for the coloured line(s) to appear. Check the results after 5 minutes. After 10

Results
| Positive | Two lines are visible and the line in the test line area (T) is the same as or darker than the line in the control line area (C). This means that ovulation is likely to start within the next 24-36 hours. |
| Negative | Two lines are visible, but the line in the test line area (T) is lighter than the line in the control line area (C) or there is no line at all in the test line area (T). This means that no increase in hLH is detected. |
| Not valid | The control line does not appear. The most likely reasons for the non-appearance of the reference line are insufficient sample quantity or an incorrect procedure. Revise the procedure and repeat the test with a new test. If the problem persists, stop using the test kit and contact your local distributor. |
