Hantavirus IgG/IgM Rapid Test

Hantaviruses are spread by rodents (e.g., bank voles), and humans usually become infected by inhaling dust contaminated with their urine or droppings—when cleaning out storage rooms, woodsheds, or garden sheds, or while working in forestry or agriculture. In Europe, the infection most commonly causes hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome: a sudden onset of high fever, severe headache, back and abdominal pain, nausea, blurred vision, and later potential impairment of kidney function. Symptoms usually appear 1 to 2 weeks (rarely up to 8 weeks) after exposure. If hantavirus infection is suspected, it is essential to consult a doctor and mention potential contact with rodents.
