What is this test?
The C-reactive protein (CRP) test evaluates the level of CRP—an acute-phase inflammation marker—in the blood. High CRP is more often present in bacterial infections, so the test helps primary care and emergency departments assess inflammation activity and prescribe antibiotics more rationally.
