A quick guide to performing this test:

  • The test will take 20 minutes to complete.
  • The location of testing is chosen according to the convenience of the user.
  • You will need to wash your hands (or use a sanitising fluid) before taking the test.
  • No additional cleaning of the nasal passages is required for the test.
  • Wear a face mask if sampling from others!
Procedure:
  1. Prepare a test tube with a foil cap for the sample. Place it in the paper holder (see top corner of the package).
  2. Use the swab provided in the sealed package to take the sample. The swab should reach a depth of 2-4 cm (1-2 cm for children) in each nostril. Be careful not to use force to push the swab in! Simply touch the inner wall of each nostril 5 times in a circular motion.
  3. After collecting the sample, place the swab in the test tube on the holder. The tip of the swab should reach the bottom of the tube. In this position, rotate the swab for 10 seconds and press it against the wall of the tube 3-5 times. Leave the swab in the collection tube for an additional 1 minute.
  4. Remove the swab by squeezing the outer wall of the tube with your fingers at the tip of the swab. Replace the dropper cap. Mix the sample by lightly tapping the bottom of the tube. Try not to shake the tube to avoid spilling its contents!
  5. Use the test cassette in the sealed foil package to test your sample. Hold the test cassette on a flat surface and apply three drops of the sample using a test tube with a dropper cap.
  6. Read the result after 15 minutes.
