What is this test?
The FOB (fecal occult blood) cassette detects human hemoglobin in stool samples that is invisible to the naked eye. The test is used as an aid in screening for colorectal cancer and polyps, and when gastrointestinal bleeding is suspected. If a positive result is obtained, a colonoscopy is required.
