What is this test?
The H. pylori antibody test detects antibodies against Helicobacter pylori in the blood. A positive result indicates past or present contact with the bacterium, which is associated with gastritis and peptic ulcer disease. Because antibodies persist long after treatment, the test is not suitable for checking eradication.
