Streptococcus A is a bacterial infection that can cause serious infections such as pharyngitis, respiratory infections, endocarditis, meningitis, postpartum sepsis and arthritis. If left untreated, these infections can lead to serious complications including rheumatic fever and paratonsillar abscess.
