What is this test?
The Transferrin and FOB test in a stool sample detects occult blood (hemoglobin) and transferrin. Transferrin is more stable than hemoglobin, so the combination helps to more reliably detect gastrointestinal bleeding. Used as an aid in screening for colorectal diseases.
